MAKHATELI BALLET
PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM

Makhateli Ballet Pre-Professional Program is for dancers who are serious about considering a career in dance, or are serious and committed to training to their maximum potential for their own enjoyment, development and gratification. The Pre-Professional Program offers an increasing level of individual attention and more exposure to a variety of techniques and styles. Participation in the Pre-Professional Program is by invitation only from Mr. Makhateli. Dancers who accept this invitation are expected to be prepared physically, mentally and emotionally for the rigors of this program.

COACHING FOR COMPETITION

Pre-Professional dancers will receive individualized coaching from Mr. Makhateli each year in selecting and preparing a classical variation to perform at the annual Denver Ballet Guild and New York Grand Prix competitions. Winners of these competitions receive prize money that can be applied to offset dance tuition expenses. Any Makhateli Ballet winner will also receive one free session (month) of lessons. In 2005, Makhateli Ballet dancers swept all 1st places with the New York Young America Grand Prix, and took 1st, 3rd and 5th places with the Denver Ballet Guild competitions. Other excellent Makhateli Ballet dancers placed in the finals for both competitions. Makhateli Ballet was also named "Most Outstanding Ballet School in Colorado 2005" by the New York Grand Prix.

RIGOROUS BUT WORTHWHILE TIME COMMITMENT

The Pre-Professional Program demands a commitment from both dancers and their parents. These commitments include 14.5 hours/week for the Full Program or 10 to 11.5 hours/week for the Partial Program, designated rehearsal times and performances throughout the year. Classes will include: ballet technique, variations, pointe, modern (Martha Graham style), Character, participating in Academy performances throughout the year, and coaching for competitions.
