MOST OUTSTANDING BALLET SCHOOL IN COLORADO 2005 & 2006, OVERALL GRAND PRIX AND 1ST PLACE WINNERS
The Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) has designated the Makhateli Ballet as the "Most Outstanding Ballet School" in both 2005 and 2006. In 2006, NADIA BELKIN won the overall Grand Prix in the Junior Division; TARANCE ARTIS won 1st place in Senior Contemporary and 3rd place in Senior Classical; and AUDREY HONERT won 2nd place in the Senior Classical Division. KELSEY GIBSON also placed in the top 12 in the 2006 YAGP competition. In 2005 (Makhateli Ballet's 1st year under the artistic direction of Nikoloz Makhateli), all 1st places at the Senior level were awarded to Makhateli Ballet DANCERS: NADIA BELKIN won the Overall Grand Prix; EVELYN TURNER took 1st place in Senior Classical and 6th Place in Senior Contemporary; and TARANCE ARTIS took 1st place in Senior Contemporary and 7th Place in Senior Classical. KELSEY GIBSON took 6th Place in Junior Contemporary and 7th Place in Junior Classical.

Makhateli Ballet is also proud of the following dancers who competed in the Youth America Grand Prix 2006: Lauren Ader, Ashley Anderson, Jonelle Camp, Ashley Collier, Cassandra Glasier, Elizabeth Martin, Lindsay Parker and Cassie Smith.
NYC YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX FINALIST - April 2005
Nadia Belkin, 14 years old, was chosen as a finalist and dance in the Finale at the New York City Youth America Grand Prix competition in April 2005. She was the only dancer from Colorado and one of just a handful of dancers from the United States to get into the finals for this highly prestigious, international competition. She was offered a $50,000 2-year full-ride scholarship to the Canadian International Ballet School. Ms. Belkin, Mr. Makhateli and the Makhateli Ballet received much attention and praise at the NYC Youth America Grand Prix, as this is the first year the Makhateli Ballet has competed in any competitions.
DENVER BALLET GUILD COMPETITION
CONGRATULATIONS to the Makhateli Ballet dancers who competed in the 2005 Denver Ballet Guild Competition. TARANCE ARTIS took 1st Place in the senior men's division; EVELYN TURNER took 3rd Place in the junior women's division; KELSEY GIBSON took 5th Place in the junior women's division; and NADIA BELKIN and LINDSEY PARKER both placed as finalists in the junior women's division. Only 10 finalists were chosen in each division; each finalist received a monetary scholarship of up to $2,000 (depending upon placement) to further support their dance education.
OTHER PRESTIGIOUS OPPORTUNITIES
Several of Mr. Makhateli's students have already been accepted in 2005 to such prestigious schools as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School of Canada, the American Ballet Theatre; Boston Ballet; Universal Ballet; Pacific Northwest Ballet; San Francisco Ballet; Canadian International Ballet School; and the School of American Ballet, with several students being offered partial and full-ride scholarships.
